An international media production company located in Central London is seeking a Data Engineer to be part of their team on a permanent basis.
Key responsibilities:
You will collaborate on various projects, transforming initial requirements into data specifications. This involves accessing new systems to collect data, collaborating with internal teams to facilitate effective data transfer, planning and executing the data infrastructure for new datasets, integrating them with existing data, validating the results, and ultimately making the data accessible for analysis and reporting.
Assume a leadership role and take responsibility for the entire data pipeline in commercial projects, encompassing tasks such as data ingestion, modeling, warehousing, and ensuring data validity.
Develop and maintain data pipelines, employing API connections for Extract, Load, Transform (ELT)/Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes.
Establish and upkeep a constantly evolving Data Lake infrastructure.
Proactively monitor and troubleshoot data platform pipelines, identifying opportunities for improvement.
Apply agile development principles and practices to facilitate data analytics and insight gathering.
Provide support to the team in promoting self-serve reporting capabilities for products and campaigns.
Qualifications:
Proficient background in data analysis and engineering.
Demonstrated experience in interpreting and analysing data effectively.
Proficient in SQL programming language.
Hands-on experience with ETL tools, particularly with Talend or other similar software.
Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform, specifically BigQuery.
Practical experience in working with Google Analytics data.
Competence in handling Google DoubleClick for Publishers (Google DFP) or Ad Manager data.
