A leading aerospace company located in Bristol is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to be part of their team on a permanent basis.
About the Role
In this position, you will leverage your extensive expertise and capabilities to steer the advancement of cutting-edge, intricate weapons systems. This hands-on role involves software development and collaboration across projects, serving as an internal consultant to offer technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship. You will collaborate within a network of diverse teams, contributing to both existing and novel software systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Demonstrated broad and significant experience in software development across various domains and technologies.
Proficient understanding of at least one high-level language, such as C++, Core Java, or C#.
Competent coding skills in multiple languages, including Python, scripting, and others mentioned above.
Ability to engage in all software development activities, spanning requirements capture and analysis, through design and implementation to testing.
Familiarity with Agile and Adaptive software development practices.
Sound understanding of architectural and design patterns.
Some administration skills in both Windows and Linux environments.
Knowledge of current DevOps & CI/CD practices.
Demonstrated commitment to self-development.
