A Digital Engagement Platform located in Central London is seeking a Technical Services Engineer to be part of their team on a permanent basis.

ABOUT THE ROLE

They are seeking a motivated Technical Services Engineer to join them and provide system deployment services and post-deployment support to the company's clients. In this position, you will be responsible for taking the lead and delivering commissioning services either on site or remotely, resulting in the successful deployment of their products and services. 

A successful candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach to delivering quality technical services with the ability to adapt to the different and changing circumstances of an ongoing project. Success in this role will primarily be measured by your ability to effectively install both simple and complex Digital Signage, IPTV, Video Streaming and Room Booking projects based on technology available from the company’s world-class portfolio. At times, this position may be performed remotely in the United Kingdom. Candidates based in the London Metropolitan Area are preferred as this position will require frequent travel to client sites throughout this region. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Planning and preparing for the commissioning with a sound understanding of what is required for a successful installation.

  • Working with internal teams to ensure time is allocated appropriately to deliver either remote or onsite commissioning.

  • Coordinating and liaising with site contacts to ensure everything is ready from a technical and resource perspective to begin the commissioning.

  • Delivering the technical services and installation/ configuration, resulting in a working solution.

  • Noting and reporting on any snagging/ outstanding tasks that may needed to be completed.

  • Working with the end client to ensure the installation is finished and all sign off documentation is completed.

  • The Technical Services Engineer will be responsible for ensuring their product knowledge is updated across the portfolio. Full training will be given initially to ensure the candidate is comfortable and competent with the technology in the portfolio.

  • Additional responsibilities can include assisting the commercial teams by providing technical input into proposals and customer demonstrations and also supporting colleagues at trade shows.

  • Services may be delivered either remotely or on-site. As part of your role, you will be required to undertake travel to both customer and reseller sites throughout the UK & Ireland. On occasions travel into Europe may be required.

  • The role will be based in the UK and will be supporting activities across this region and Europe. It will be required to speak regularly with colleagues from a number for different departments across the company. Therefore the candidate will need to be an excellent communicator and able to function in a high-performing global team.

Experience and Skills:

  • Previous experience in a similar role either from a System Integrator or Manufacturer

  • Shell scripting knowledge

  • Experience with Databases (SQL, MySQL or similar)

  • Limited to professional working proficiency of European Languages is a plus. 

  • Previous experience on IPTV or video streaming systems. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Good Linux experience. Basic command line and log reading.

  • Experience with web technologies. HTML, CSS. 

  • Good networking experience with TCP/IP and basic switch configuration

  • Ability to travel as required.
