A permanent Assistant IT Manager has become available to join the dynamic team of a prestigious hotel in Central London. The ideal candidate will be someone who has previous experience/knowledge within a hotel or hospitality of any capacity. Your role will be to ensure the professional running and maintenance of all IT systems and infrastructure within the hotel and provision of IT support to the staff and guests of the hotel. This is an exciting role for someone who is already doing a management/ team leader role or would suit somebody who is looking to make a step up into a hands-on management position.

Day to day you will be responsible for proactively supporting hotel guests with any IT related issues within the guest rooms, function rooms or public areas within the hotel as well as supporting the hotel staff with any IT related issues within their role and/or department. You will be responsible for supporting the hotels internal PC network including all hardware and software installed, monitoring the hotels file servers on a regular basis, monitor backup procedures as well as source and procure new equipment to meet required Company’s specifications at the best market price. 

You will also maintain all printers, faxes, photocopiers, scanners, and credit card terminals and coordinate quarterly preventative maintenance, maintain the Company’s email connectivity at all times, manage access rights onto the Company’s computer network, Conduct capacity and performance studies pertaining to network file segments and servers, perform hardware and software evaluations with individual workstations and determine appropriate installation and/or upgrade schedule, perform six monthly hardware site audits as well as an asset register of all computer hardware and a log of all service calls on computer hardware, maintain and troubleshoot Hotel WiFi infrastructure including: WVOIP, guest internet access, maintain and troubleshoot Cisco Unified Communications Manager (Call Manager), maintain and test disaster recovery plan, assist in compiling the annual IT Department budget, inclusive of payroll, general expenses, training and Capital Expenditure as well as plan and assist with the Hotel and Corporate Office the implementation of the IT Systems Capital Expenditure budget.

Management Duties:
• Ensure that Rota’s are managed in a fair and consistent manner to ensure that ‘working time’ legislation is adhered to and guest and business needs are met.
• Ensure that revenue targets are met as set out in the annual budget.
• Provide effective leadership throughout the department, developing a strong team culture and ethos which supports high levels of guest service delivery, effective communication and knowledge sharing.
• Coach and support direct reports towards the performance of the hotel’s KPI’s.
• Hold regular meetings with direct reports and conduct formal performance appraisals at least on an annual basis, agreeing appropriate outcomes and performance objectives. Ensure annual appraisals, regular job chats and employee communications are effectively undertaken within departments.
• In conjunction with the Human Resources team ensure effective recruitment and selection, and employee recognition and retention processes are in place to support high performance across the department.
• In conjunction with the Learning and Development Manager, ensure a robust and effective training strategy is in place within the department; including induction, departmental and cross training, and team member, supervisory and management level development.
• Attend, develop or facilitate department/hotel training sessions and/or meetings as required, and ensure you are fully responsible for the training of all colleagues and team members within your department.
• Support the development of colleagues at all levels, encourage succession planning and identify colleagues with potential for promotion and/or transfer, make appropriate development plans in conjunction with the department manager and HR and development team.
