​A Leading Charity based in City of London is seeking a Infrastructure and Cloud Systems Manager to join their IT team on a permanent basis. You will ensure that the Charity’s digital assets are maintained to provide the best possible user experience, balanced against any cyber security constraints which could cause organisational harm. This will be a hybrid working position that would be mainly remote but perhaps once a week in the office.

ABOUT THE ROLE

To have overall technical responsibility for the Charity's network and telecommunications infrastructure, core and cloud applications and cyber security. The Infrastructure and Cloud Systems Manager will work with the Head of IS to ensure that network uptime is maximised, network threats are detected and mitigated against and that technical team resources are managed accordingly.

The Infrastructure and Cloud Systems Manager will develop and maintain effective relationships between the Charity, technology vendors and strategic technology partners, being the main point of contact for these relationships.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  1. Core Network Infrastructure - ensuring that the cloud, terminal and on- premises servers have the required uptime and performance, managing and escalating issues with the technology partners when appropriate. Managing the telecommunications systems and wireless networks, to deliver seamless operational performance for the staff and stakeholders

  2. Cyber Security Technical Lead - monitor for attacks, intrusions and unusual, unauthorised or illegal activity keep up to date with the latest security and technology developments. You will contribute to (inter alia): disaster recovery planning, certification, mail filtering, acquisition of security standards and create contingency plans in the event of any security breaches, in order to reduce the organisational harm caused by a compromised network or device.

  3. Applications and Web Services - Ensure that the applications and web services meet the requirements of the Charity through structured management, reporting and governance, strong technical knowledge, proactive support and incident management. This will maximise efficiency and value from the investment as well as providing an optimal user experience.

  4. Managing technical knowledge and expertise - You will ensure that there is up-to-date documentation of its network infrastructure as well as a comprehensive and easily updateable knowledge base of guidance, solutions, reference and explanations. This ensures we manage its knowledge effectively and, in the event of fast-moving issues, the team is able to act quickly and decisively to resolve them or escalate as appropriate.

  5. Project Management – You will be comfortable leading on projects and being an active participant in others. Familiar with techniques which deliver success you can scope, design, initiate and execute projects successfully using project-appropriate levels of risk, issue and performance reporting and lessons learnt/what worked reviews. We are working as an organisation to improve project accountabilities and schedule resources more effectively so you will be able to share your expertise with other colleagues as appropriate.

  6. Staff Management – As a line manager you will ensure that your staff are managed fairly and in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Charity, consistent with the stated Organisational Values.

  7. Collaboration and Teamwork – collaborating with colleagues to provide technical expertise, whilst identifying opportunities and mitigating risks. You will also develop and maintain a vendor and supplier network of contacts as required to deliver new equipment, external expertise/services and necessary licensing of the Charity and optimise the technology experience for all staff.

  8. Additional general responsibility - All staff should actively promote the core Values of the organization whilst working towards achieving the strategic objectives of the Charity, focusing on the impact of the departmental Operational Plan. Supporting the management team to ensure that fulfils its obligations for the Health, Safety and Security of all employees and relevant stakeholders including Volunteers. PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications Skills and Experience:

Essential

  • Microsoft Certified Professional

  • CISCO networking intermediate to expert level

  • Experience of managing strategic partners

  • NVQ Level 3 or similar in Mathematics

  • CompTIA or similar server management qualification

  • Highly digitally literate with advanced level understanding of Microsoft 365 administration

  • Good understanding of GDPR regulations and awareness of how to handle sensitive data

  • Experience of using Zendesk or Zoho Service Desk platforms

  • High level of technical literacy across all aspects of service provision.

  • Server management experience

  • Cyber security and threat detection experience

Desirable

  • DELL certifications

  • Bachelor level degree in computer science or computer engineering

  • Project Management Qualification (PRINCE2)

  • Understanding of Agile Techniques and how they drive innovation

  • Experience of using a CRM system

  • Staff management experience

  • 37.5 hours (Monday to Friday) with some out of hours cover and occasional weekend work
