​A Multi-brand Leading Property Company are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic IT Infrastructure Architect to join their IT team on a permanent basis. The IT Infrastructure Architect role is a key role for designing, building and running IT infrastructure and associated business processes, security, monitoring, etc. It will cover all IT operations and infrastructure, including service desk, voice and data networks, security, data centres, end user devices, backups, and Azure cloud management. The role requires collaboration with Business Stakeholders, the internal IT team and external suppliers to ensure smooth, reliable, resilient and cost-effective solutions to meet the companies’ needs.

The role will be based in Central London though will have the potential for remote working. Initially, the role will form part of an IT Operations team of approx. 8 staff, and and overall IT team of approx. 20 staff. The team is expected to grow further over the coming year as part of a planned growth of the business and its brands, and to drive critical IT development programmes.

The role is vital to the delivery of a successful IT Operations team, ensuring reliable, resilient and secure services. The main focus of the role will be to:

  • Design, build and implement infrastructure solutions across computing hardware, voice and data networks, printers, and other associated equipment such as keyless door access systems. The role will involve mentoring existing staff and building relationships with 3rd party suppliers

  • Design, build and implement industry practice technologies, covering service desk, monitoring, alerting, etc

  • Design, build and implement a best-practice Azure Cloud function. This will be a key part of the role as Azure is part of the strategy but almost no processes exist today. The role will be critical to selecting the right products from the Azure cloud stack, as well as managing billing, backups, automation, etc

  • Support the Head of Operations in the design, build and implementation of industry practice methodologies, based on ITIL

  • Support the Head of Operations in the design, build and implementation of industry practice processes, covering security (e.g. identity access management, perimeter management, monitoring), network monitoring, software automation (Robotic Process Automation), standard client build/rollout, etc.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of IT Operations in scoping and planning all new IT operations programmes

  • Support the Head of IT Operations in setting roadmaps and architectural principles to help drive the business forwards through technology

  • Design, build and implement processes for effective use of Azure Cloud, covering preferred products; creation, use of, and tear-down of environments, billing management and reporting, security, etc

  • Provide design and support expertise to effectively manage all infrastructure components, across networks, servers, PCs and Macs, etc

  • Provide expertise at second line support level

  • Ensure effective processes to support core day to day activities such as backups, rolling out of patches and anti-virus, monitoring networks, etc

  • Participates in defining infrastructure architectures, including evaluation, selection and integration of new technologies

  • Support the Head of IT Operations achieve adherence to architectural and enterprise principles, product-specific guidelines, and usability standards, across functional and non-functional areas

  • Facilitate decision making process required to successfully execute infrastructure plans and contribute to the creation of accurate project plans and task lists

  • Identify, create and maintain appropriate artefacts and documentation

  • Support the Head of IT Operations in the development of a new IT operating model, with best-in-class processes based on industry standards such as ITIL and NIST

  • Ensure all programmes of work clearly map to business vision, goals and roadmap

  • Build strong relationships with business stakeholders, and manage business stakeholders’ expectations regarding the delivery of infrastructure programmes

  • Ensure that designed or reviewed solutions conform to architectural requirements such as scalability, maintainability, reliability, extensibility, usability and security

  • Liaise closely with service partners and suppliers where 3rd party work or packages are involved

  • Develop and maintain industry expertise relating to IT operations, infrastructure, cloud and security

  • The role is Group-wide and may require travel to other Group locations as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Information Systems or equivalent commercial experience

  • Ability to recognize priorities and support in the accomplishment of business goals and objectives

  • Excellent communication skills, and able to influence at all levels

  • Fluent English

  • Self-motivated; capable of managing multiple tasks concurrently

  • Demonstrates professional attitude and appearance consistent with position’s responsibilities

Skills:

  • Experienced in IT operations, across networks, servers, end user devices, and cloud

  • In-depth experience of Microsoft Azure cloud environment, covering scoping of cloud models (PaaS and SaaS), design, implementation, running, monitoring, securing and cost management

  • Experience with industry leading Service Management tools

  • People-management and mentoring

  • Personable and able to build relationships quickly with IT and business staff at all levels

  • Ability to support the driving in of a new operating model and bring the IT operations team and the business on the journey

  • Preferably, experience in rolling out, managing and constantly improving the Office 365 platform

  • Self-motivated, able to add value quickly

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of IT experience in IT infrastructure roles

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with of ITIL processes

  • Preferably, good understanding of NIST security framework, and how to implement within a company

  • Experience with business process modelling tools (Visio, etc.)
