This is a permanent position which you can either be fully remote or have the option to work in the companys Central London office however many days a week you wish (Monday to Friday).

About the role:

They are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to join their world-class team to help evolve their offering whilst continuing to follow best engineering practices. Their platform is 100% cloud based, using over 30 AWS services, including Lambda, Kinesis and Aurora. All of the infrastructure is managed as code and they strive to automate - everything - from patching servers to code deployments. They manage sensitive client data, and hence, a security first mindset is essential. They are ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certified and dedicated to continuous improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work autonomously to help build and run the infrastructure powering their product

  • Maintain the security, performance and availability of their platform

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines

  • Be fiscally responsible - suggesting cost effective infrastructure and architecture changes

  • Assist the compliance team with security information

  • Help with out-of-hours support for the site (for extra pay)

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4+ years experience in a systems engineering or development role

  • 2+ years of systems engineering experience on AWS

  • Experience with IaC tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform

  • Experience with automation tools such as Chef or Puppet

  • Linux experience

  • First class problem solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills

  • Comfortable writing basic programs & scripts

  • (Nice to have) Experience working in an environment with stringent security requirements
