A global financial compliance company located in Cheshire is seeking an Azure DevOps Engineer to join their dynamic team on a permanent basis with hybrid working.

ABOUT THE ROLE

They are seeking a talented and experienced Azure DevOps Engineer to join their dynamic team. As an Azure DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing their continuous integration and deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps tools and services. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of the company's software development and deployment processes. You will work closely with development teams, infrastructure engineers, and stakeholders to streamline the software delivery lifecycle and optimise their cloud-based infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Azure DevOps Infrastructure Setup: Design, configure, and maintain Azure DevOps infrastructure, including build and release pipelines, environments, and agent pools.

  • Continuous Integration and Delivery: Implement and manage end-to-end CI/CD pipelines for multiple projects, including code compilation, automated testing, and deployment to various environments.

  • Version Control Management: Administer and support version control systems, such as Git, ensuring branch management, code merges, and version tagging are handled effectively.

  • Infrastructure as Code: Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code templates (e.g., ARM templates, Terraform scripts) for provisioning and managing Azure resources.

  • Monitoring and Logging: Set up monitoring and logging solutions, leveraging Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and other related services to ensure optimal system performance and proactively identify issues.

  • Collaboration and Team Support: Collaborate with development teams to understand their requirements, provide guidance on CI/CD best practices, and troubleshoot any issues related to the deployment pipeline. Classification: Commercial In Confidence

  • Automation and Process Improvement: Continuously automate manual tasks, optimise processes, and enhance deployment speed and reliability through scripting, configuration management, and tool integrations.

  • Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards, such as data encryption, access controls, and vulnerability assessments.

  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Document infrastructure and deployment processes, create technical guides, and conduct knowledge sharing sessions to enable the team to maintain and support the environment effectively.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Azure DevOps Expertise: Extensive experience working with Azure DevOps tools and services, including Azure Pipelines, Azure Repos, Azure Artifacts, and Azure Boards.

  • Cloud Computing: Strong understanding of Azure cloud services and architecture, including virtual machines, storage accounts, networking, and identity and access management.

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency in using infrastructure-as-code tools like ARM templates, Terraform, or Azure Resource Manager to automate resource provisioning and configuration.

  • Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD): Hands-on experience designing and implementing end-to-end CI/CD pipelines, incorporating automated testing, environment management, and release orchestration.

  • Scripting and Automation: Proficient in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python to automate deployment tasks, manage configurations, and support infrastructure maintenance.

  • Version Control: Strong knowledge of version control systems, particularly Git, including branching, merging, and resolving conflicts.

  • Monitoring and Logging: Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools in Azure, such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, and their integration with deployment pipelines.

  • Security and Compliance: Understanding of security principles and best practices in cloud environments, including encryption, access controls, network security groups, and compliance frameworks.

  • Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex deployment and infrastructure issues.

  • Collaboration and Communication: Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, understand requirements, and provide technical guidance.
