A Global Commercial Bank located in the City of London is seeking a Control Team Associate to be part of their team on a permanent basis with hybrid working. This is a newly created role within the Risk and Controls function and will work within the Control Team that sits within EMEA and is designed to provide consistent and effective support for the first line of defence.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The role will cover all of the bank and will report to the Chief Operation Officer (COO). This is a first line of defence role which will cover all risk types albeit with a particular focus on operational risk. They will be expected to collaborate effectively with risk colleagues to support and promote excellence in risk management within their first line of defence.
This role will also be expected to work effectively within the Control Team function to promote consistency, quality and value added to the business in everything that they do. They will also need to have a practical, common-sense approach and be comfortable undertaking a full range of activities.
The Control Team Associate will need to have a good understanding of risk management tools, techniques and concepts to support first line, Snr. Business Risk Managers, as well as specialist knowledge of Control Testing governance structures and frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
The Control Associate working in close coordination with the Senior Business Risk Managers and the second line of defence will be responsible for the following:
Supporting the Snr Risk Managers through reporting and MI
Develop and enhance Risk MI for committees and Senior Managers.
Enhance risk MI with key stakeholders as risks change and are presented
Liaise with areas of the business to ensure that data is accurate and up-to-date for risk reporting purposes
Regular review of risks and issues to input into key themes and trends that require action or nomination for further assessment through the risk and control self-assessment process
Provide key inputs into scenario and control testing programmes from KRIs and data reported to the Control Team
Support senior managers with creating a culture of risk management deep within the business units
Support Control testing manager in the presentation of Control testing results
