We have an exciting permanent opportunity come up at a stunning historical estate in Buckinghamshire who are looking for a collaborative and talented Head of IT managing a team of three, your role will be to assist with overall business technology planning, future vision of how technology and systems can support their strategy and ensuring that the inhouse team is at all times providing professional and effective support for all stakeholders whilst managing relationships well.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Keep pace with the changing needs of the organisation and ensure that the systems and software are both fit for purpose and compliant
Ensure that all proposals are fully discussed and documented at the IT Steering group and regular departmental meetings with other Heads of Department
Overall management of technical documentation and reference materials, ensuring their validity, accuracy and accessibility
Liaise with IT and information professionals on issues of best practice, exchange of ideas and collaborative work to ensure that our approach remains up-to-date.
Manage the continual improvement of IT software and hardware on a system of rolling upgrades and replacement
Negotiate and manage third party vendors and service providers to ensure efficient and cost-effective management of contracts and purchasing
Work closely with the Financial Controller on department budgeting and future infrastructure planning and risk management
Work closely with the CEO's to ensure that all operational requirements of the visitor and client experience are planned adequately for
Build successful relationship with the Head of Archives & Records regarding implementation and maintenance of SharePoint as the EDMS and intranet
Active management of relationships with all third party contracts
Maintain a close working relationship with National Trust IT Business Partners.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrable expertise in performing proof of concept exercises to demonstrate or evaluate the feasibility and potential benefits of applying a particular technology, product or toolset to meet a business need.
An experienced people manager, with enthusiasm for cultivating excellent relationships across a complex organisation.
Strong analytical abilities and a creative and sensitive approach to problem solving and delivering change
Excellent communication skills, ability to present at senior level as required
Sound working knowledge of IT systems and process e.g Active Directory, Exchange, Hyper-V, SQL, DNS and DHCP
Experience of working in a remote desktop environment, Citrix, would be advantageous
Experience of implementing system configuration changes, data control and data repair, would be advantageous • Awareness of principles of data confidentiality and security
Driving license essential (as post holder may be required to work at other sites and visit the London office)
