About the role

The Information Technology Manager role is a great opportunity for the right person to really showcase their versatility with all aspect of IT ultimately being responsible for all operations and maintenance of IT infrastructure. The primary duties are the security of the company’s computer systems and electronic data, development and implementation of customised systems and overseeing all computer-related activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively maintain all business systems/applications and network.

  • Building inter-departmental relationships allowing proactive support to co-operate and residence IT staff with any IT related issues within their role and/or department.

  • Implantations of technologies, directing the work of system and business analysts, developers, support specialists and other computer related workers.

  • Experience and technical expertise, couples with an understanding of business and management principles.

  • Evaluating user needs and system functionality and ensuring that ICT facilities meets the needs.

  • Provide support and assistance on all IT related projects.

  • Planning, developing and implementing the ICT budget and obtaining competitive prices from suppliers to ensure cost effectiveness.

  • Scheduling upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems.

  • Guaranteeing the smooth running of all ICT systems.

  • Ensuring that users adhere to software licensing laws.

  • Providing secure access to the network for remote users

  • Securing data from internal and external attacks

  • Managing crisis situation, which may involve complex technical hardware or software problems.

  • Business process re-engineering entails re-design the way the work is done to meet the organisation’s goals and reduce cost.

  • Understanding of the capabilities and constraints of technology and resource implications in terms of budgets, as well as the training and recruitment of specialist staff.

  • Administrating and implementing all computer related technologies, including network security, internet operations and software upgrades

  • Ensure the residence teams are informed on all newly implemented systems, changes to policies and procedures are communicated.

  • Provide support to LAN /WAN infrastructure, Virtual infrastructure, be involved in systems deployment and to ensure existing technology is used to its best potential.

  • Ensure that all and every support issue is logged in the Company’s tracking system and they are dealt with in a timely fashion.

  • Creating and maintaining systems support documentation, procedures and other information useful to the smooth and efficient operation of information systems.

  • Ability to learn new systems and applications as necessary.

  • To always act in a professional and courteous manner representing the companies’ highest standards of business conduct; exhibits a positive attitude, sharing information with co-workers as appropriate and works to promote a cooperative, productive teamwork environment.

  • To fully understand all the relevant systems so as to know their capabilities and limitations. It is essential to understand the business in order to help develop and implement applications/systems which will enable the company to work more efficiently.

  • To provide strategic and tactical support for key software systems.

  • To ensure support requests are tackled in a timely fashion in accordance with technical Support Process and SLA’s, coordinating testing and deployments.

  • To document business workflows and any changes that need to be implemented and communicate with the relevant development personnel to implement these changes; this might be in-house staff or 3rd party suppliers where necessary.

  • To participate in technology planning and strategy activities to ensure that business objectives are met.

  • To be proactive in identifying critical business, technical, and/or operational issues and then drive issues to resolution.

  • To work with stakeholders to facilitate the development of functional and technical requirements.

  • Monitor backup procedures and ensure adequate backups are taken for all systems and that they are stored in a safe and secure place.

  • Provide 24 hour, 7 days a week on call support as and when required.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a comparable role as an IT Manager

  • Prior experience in Hotel / Residential or equivalent multi-function property – desired

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems or Computer Science is required

  • Technical background to be deal with the demands of this role – Experience coordinating installations, upgrades, and maintenance on IT infrastructure

  • Ability to identify software needs

  • Knowledge of architecture processes and performance reports of operating systems

  • Experience in information technology space and solving various software and hardware problems

  • Strong technical problem solving and communication skills
