IT Technician

An established Food and Beverage Manufacturing company based in Swansea is seeking a passionate IT Technician to join their team that will be responsible for providing 1st and 2nd line support. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for responding to and resolving technical issues in a timely manner and will be directly reporting to the Department Manager for all IT activities across the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality service to users in all assigned tasks.

  • Support all internal and external users with product training, knowledge and expertise.

  • Provide solutions in a timely manner for issues that may arise with all of the company’s systems.

  • Document and monitor support calls raised on the IT Support Desk system and prioritising tasks as required to ensure end user satisfaction.

  • Report to the Department Manager regarding increasing trends, unusual or repeated activity.

  • Coordinate well with customers in regards to technical issues and resolutions

  • Assist other teams to initiate, design and manage effective support solutions

  • Assist with the development and testing of newly designed products and systems for operational integrity and functionality.

Requirements:

  • IT or engineering degree is preferred but not required

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a technical support environment.

  • Diagnostic and analytical skills for software and general information systems and application knowledge.

  • Electro‐Mechanical knowledge.

  • Strong computer literacy skills with an emphasis on software, hardware installation, Microsoft applications, VMWare, Database applications, Web Applications, and internet protocols.

  • Strong hardware abilities with the understanding of terminology and functionality.

  • Ability to multitask and a sense of urgency 

  • Excellent telephone presence with organised follow‐up skills.

  • Ability to be proactive and able to take direction and establish ownership projects tasks.

  • Demonstrated networking skill.

  • Ability to foster strong relationships internally and externally.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong customer focus i.e., a service-oriented attitude.
