Role Purpose
As a Senior Platform Engineer you will be working within the Production Services team to both support day to day running of the full stack/suite of the company’s infrastructure and applications and to then work with the wider team to help improve it.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage, mentor and coach Platform Engineers, overseeing the quality of their work to ensure alignment to technical standards and strategy, and supporting as needed in solving complex problems.
Partner closely with key stakeholders to ensure that self-service capabilities delivered by the Platform Engineering team are understood and adopted successfully
Drive a DevSecOps mindset across the team and wider organisation, delivering sustainable solutions that meet the required security, resiliency, and observability expectations
Own several CI/CD security tools, partnering with security teams to ensure they continue to meet current and future requirements and are adopted successfully across the users of the platform.
Continuously look for opportunities to improve DevSecOps capabilities to eliminate toil and increase security and reliability of cloud hosted applications and resources
Qualifications
Demonstrable experience in establishing and running Platform Engineering or DevOps Engineering teams spanning multiple regions
Extensive hands-on experience in design, build and deployment of Microsoft Azure stack, particularly PaaS and AKS implementations using CI/CD
Experience with Full Stack Observability technologies
Extensive experience in Azure DevOps (including repos, advanced pipelines, and package management), Terraform, Jenkins and other CI/CD tools
Excellent communicator and proven ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
Excellent presentation skills and experience in delivering messages successfully to a range of levels within a large organisation
