ABOUT THE ROLE
The Quantitative Trading Team is a front office technology team responsible for the research, enhancement, and innovation of algorithmic execution strategies that focuses primarily on the execution of the company's global trade flow across multiple asset classes. The scale of the company's activity leads to significant operating leverage, where deliveries of all sizes from the team can have large revenue and profit impact.
The successful candidate will join the current team of ten computer science / domain experts based in London and New York. The candidate must be a passionate, hands-on developer with experience in designing and implementing trading systems, and building research and back-testing pipelines on a Linux platform.
The role will require frequent contact with the global trading, operations, treasury and technology teams. As such, the successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be confident discussing their contributions to senior partners/business leads, and have confidence in problem solving under pressure.
The successful candidate is likely to have experience working on a real-time execution platform at a systematic hedge fund, a systematic broker, a systematic desk at a top tier investment bank, a high frequency trading environment or a market maker, but all applications from other backgrounds are welcome if they demonstrate suitability for the role.
Required Skills and Experience:
Ideally 4-8 years of experience
Advanced C++ on Linux
Excellent software engineering skills with experience designing high-performance, real-time enterprise-grade trading systems / execution platforms / order management system
Experience routing orders; managing fund positions at trade time; understanding trade costs, financing costs, and the trade off between them
Great architecture, design and implementation skills
Highly proficient with unit testing frameworks
Desirable Skills and Experience:
Python
Kafka, UMS/LBM
Understanding of linear/convex optimisation
Experience developing execution algos and/or quant APIs and research pipelines, and handling data intensive workloads
Experience with large scale distributed computing technologies
Interest in global equity/future/FX/options/debt market microstructure
Awareness of real-time market data feeds and FIX protocol applications, preferably from an algorithmic trading perspective
