About the Role

This role will be involved in a combination of developing, adding new functionality and fixing issues in existing software applications. This role will need to communicate and agree solutions, technologies and designs with developers, team leaders and stakeholders. As well as writing code and unit tests, this role will review other developer’s designs and code. An active member of the team, this role will provide help and support to the other developers, and input into improving the development process and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help define/design & implement Firm’s data warehousing & governance strategy

  • Develop models to support business users in self-service data interrogation

  • Develop data visualisations and dashboards in support of SLAs, KPIs and other metrics

  • Developing management reporting to business specifications

  • Providing regular reporting to Board, Committees, and external Clients

  • Assisting in the production of forecasting models and other insight and analysis tools

  • Supporting the production of daily/weekly/monthly reports for clients & internal stakeholders

  • Validating the reconciliation of data across the Firm’s systems

  • Providing commentary to support business decisions

  • Feeding MI/BI & database requirements to projects solution design

Requirements and Qualifications

Desirable:

  • A university degree or equivalent work experience

  • Certified BI Professional or similar

  • Knowledge of Legal Case and/or Practice Management applications is highly beneficial

  • Experience working in a regulated environment is useful but not a requirement

  • Experience with SharePoint would be useful

Skills and Experience:

  • A strong skillset across the Microsoft BI Stack (SQL, SSIS, SSRS, Power BI)

  • Excellent administration, organisational and prioritisation skills with ability to manage time efficiently

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office (O365) and collaboration tools such as MS Teams

  • Excellent analytical and investigatory capability

  • The ability to communicate clearly and concisely with users at all levels of the business

  • Precise reporting and presentation skills

  • Accuracy and attention to detail

  • The ability to use own initiative but also be a team player

  • A can-do attitude

  • The ability to prioritise appropriately and flexibly
