A Global Insurance Company based in Edinburgh is seeking a passionate Systems Analyst that will be directly supporting the IT Director in ensuring the support and maintenance of business applications across their users globally. The candidate for this role will be involved in the company’s IT Risk Management and will be assisting other departments in ensuring that they are utilising the applications properly and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Provide business users with 1st line application support both functional and technical.
Participate in SQL/VB development projects.
Provide ad hoc admin support to the IT team.
Create and execute test plans to support system changes and new system implementations.
Document new processes and review current procedure notes making necessary changes as appropriate.
Work as part of the IT team to define and implement changes required which meet the business IT requirements as well as resolve ongoing issues and problems.
Actively participate in projects established to deliver on key business initiatives
Liaise with key business stakeholders as well as the Head of IT and IT colleagues to determine priorities and solutions for ad hoc queries and issues
Adhere to IT Risk Management and Audit requirements and ensure compliance with company’s IT standards
Skills/Experience:
Working experience as a SQL/.NET Developer or similar role
Excellent understanding of T-SQL programming
Experience of working with MS SSIS
Working experience with MS Suite(preferred but not essential): Developing with MS Dynamics 365; MS SharePoint
IT experience in a support environment (preferred but not essential)
Knowledge or experience of using any of the following technologies (not essential): Atlassian products including Jira and BitBucket; Business Objects
